Working as a psychologist and psychotherapist, I work daily with people experiencing difficulties or crises. During my psychotherapy sessions I treat the causes of psychological problems, not just their symptoms. I do my best to get to the heart of the problems that affect my patients, in each of these areas:
- Emotional problems – such as depression, apathy or fear, panic attacks, intrusive thoughts, burnout, and stress
- Interpersonal difficulties – such as a troubled relationship with your spouse, partner, children, family, colleagues, or peers
- Disordered eating – anorexia, bulimia, compulsive overeating (binging)
- Somatic problems – such as certain somatic disorders that are not medically justified (stress- related pains, heart palpitations, numbness, etc.), psychosomatic diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, urticaria and allergies, or irritable bowel syndrome, and others)
- Personality disorders – e. g. personalities disorders. borderline personality, narcissistic personality, dependent personality
I always treat each patient individually. I propose ways of navigating out of the crisis my patients has found themselves in that are tailored to their abilities and needs. I choose the most effective treatment method in a given situation. I support the introduction of changes into their day-to-day and teach them how to cope with the challenges of their everyday life once therapy is concluded.
With every session, I get to understand once again how crucial my work is. I have the unique privilege of witnessing the unfolding and effects of positive changes in my patients’ lives. With my help, you could also improve your own quality of life, even if it does not look like an easy journey from where you are standing.
I dedicate my time, passion, and devotion to my work with patients. I do so because I can see that the help I provide gives them a real chance to regain their mental balance:
To me, true job satisfaction is when my patients notice a positive impact on their lives after we both put in hard work to improve their mental state:
I have been running my private psychological practice under the name of Anna Báthory Psychotherapy and Coaching Clinic. I lead therapy sessions and cycles while always keeping their long-term effects in mind:
- I work in line with psychodynamic psychology;
- I use modern psychoanalysis tools;
- I only use scientifically proven methods of treatment;
- I act in line with professional ethics and confidentiality principles;
- I constantly improve my qualifications and knowledge;
- As a molecular biologist, I use knowledge from the field of neurobiology to better support changes, treating them as psychological processes based on the biological capabilities of the human nervous system;
- I ensure the regular supervision of my work by the supervisors of the Polish Psychological Society and the Polish Society for Psychoanalytical Psychotherapy.
I want to help my patients in the way that is best for them — most efficient, most convenient, most achievable. Many of my patients live all across Poland, and some live and work abroad. Not all of them have the opportunity to regularly visit my clinic. That is why I practice psychotherapy not only in the form of face-to-face meetings at my office, but also through online means.
A specialist with complementary, cross-disciplinary knowledge
In order to better understand the way in which human beings function, I decided to develop my professional competencies in several interrelated areas. This lets me achieve a level of synergy in my understanding of the troubles affecting a patient that enables me to help them change their lives even more effectively.
I had the opportunity to spend many years gathering experience in clinical work — as a trainee psychologist and psychotherapist. During this time, I conducted psychological consultations, individual psychotherapy series, and group therapy sessions.
I did clinical internships in the area of psychotherapy in a number of centers:
